Al Mahdi Youth Society [AMYS] is a youth organization located in Pickering, Ontario. It is a sub-committee that works under the umbrella of Council of Islamic Guidance [www.cig.ca] – at the Al Mahdi Islamic Center. It was created in 1991 and is one of the longest running youth organizations in North America. It is under the consistent guidance and leadership of Hujjatul Islam Syed Zaki Baqri and is an organization which caters primarily to the youth of the community and focuses its activities and services towards them.

Over the years AMYS has provided many community services such as annual summer camps, seminars, Islamic competitions, Muharram English lectures by renowned scholars and various sporting activities.

Mission Statement:

To provide an Islamic atmosphere for the development and perfection of the youth of our community to serve Imam-e-Zamana (ajtf).

Our Message:

As an important step in the ongoing struggle to strive in the path of Allah (swt), the community has constantly tried to establish an Islamic atmosphere in which our children can grow and become healthy both spiritually and physically. That struggle continues but the nature of the battle has changed. We have realized the most effective way of getting through to our youth is through the youth. The best strategy to keep our youth on the Siratul Mustaqeem (the right path) is to train leaders from within them who will guide them towards the truth and away from evil. By teaching our youth to become independent and struggle in the way of Allah (swt) and more importantly teach each other to do so, we strongly believe they will achieve victory in all arenas in this life and the hereafter.

Let us fall into the arms of the Almighty and allow ourselves to be wrapped in His mercy. Let us prepare ourselves for the arrival for our saviour Imam Mahdi (ajtf). Let us prostrate upon the ground and allow ourselves the joy of being humble. Let us live our life to please no one but Allah (swt). For without the pleasure of your Sustainer, this life is better off not lived.
